SYMBOL CONSTRUCTION
The decision was made to do away with the dry grass that forms the right half of the original symbol’s crown. The laurel becomes what constitutes the complete crown. This results in a more compact visual representation. From the emblem of the Principality of Asturias, the crown and the Victoria Cross are extracted, simplified, and incorporated into the Maltese Cross, creating visual unity.
